Okul Öncesi Öğretmenlerinin Çocuk Hakları Konusundaki Görüşleri
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the opinions of preschool teachers in Ankara about children's rights and what needs to be done to protect and develop these rights. Children's rights are an important indicator that reflects a country's level of development and hopes for the future. Although legal regulations and policies regarding children's rights have reached a certain level in Turkey, difficulties and deficiencies encountered in practice prevent the effective protection of these rights. Within the scope of the research, the knowledge levels of preschool teachers working in Ankara about children's rights and the attitudes and knowledge levels of parents and administrators on this subject were examined. The findings of the research show that teachers are generally knowledgeable about children's rights, but there are deficiencies in putting this knowledge into practice. It has been determined that parents' knowledge of children's rights is insufficient and more training is needed on this subject. It has been determined that although managers have theoretical knowledge, they cannot sufficiently apply this knowledge in practice. In the study, it is suggested that non-governmental organizations and universities should cooperate to protect and develop children's rights, raise awareness of parents and teachers, and impose heavy penalties on people who violate children's rights. Additionally, it was emphasized that public and private sector collaborations should be strengthened and awareness about children's rights should be raised in the society at large.
