Abstract

Efforts to combat violence have become an urgent problem for societies, but despite these efforts, violence continues to increase every day. Almost every day, individuals are either exposed to or witness some kind of violence that infiltrates various areas such as workplaces, schools, homes and public spaces. The consequences of violence on both society and the individual are irreparable. The increase in violent incidents in the business world, especially in health institutions and organizations, which puts health workers at greater risk, is particularly worrying. This increased risk of violence to which health workers are exposed has a detrimental impact on the quality of care provided, the well being of patients, harmony between colleagues, work efficiency and overall work performance. Dec. As a result, it is imperative to conduct research and develop effective solutions to address this urgent problem of violence. The aim of the research conducted in this context is to identify certain occupational groups that commit violence and to determine the occupational group that is most open to violence among health workers. Dec. In addition, the research aims to determine the dominant form of violence suffered by health workers, the coping mechanisms of these employees with verbal, physical and sexual violence, and the impact of socio-demographic factors on the occurrence of violence. The findings revealed that nurses are the most frequently targeted group for physical and sexual violence. Also, while anger is the most common emotional response to verbal, physical and sexual violence among health workers, most of these employees have chosen not to use any coping strategies to deal Decently with violence. The regression analysis showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between nurses and their exposure to verbal, physical and sexual violence compared to other health professionals.
