Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to determine the burnout levels of teachers related to their professions and to determine whether there is a statistical relationship between the variables. The working group of the research consists of 80 teachers working in a school in Istanbul. Maslach burnout scale was used for this study. The scale consists of 22 items and includes questions to measure the burnout level of teachers. Descriptive statistics were made to determine the level of burnout of teachers. In order to understand whether the burnout status of the participants differed according to their gender, the T test was used, and the Anova test was used to understand whether it varies according to the professional seniority year. It has been found out that teachers' overall professional burnout levels are at a medium level. It was concluded that female teachers experienced more emotional exhaustion than male teachers. Teachers with less working time have higher perceptions of depersonalization, emotional exhaustion and low personal accomplishment in relation to professional seniority.
