Abstract

In this research, the aim of this research is to reveal the contact information of the administrators of the pre-school departments working in pre-school education institutions in Küçükçekmece and Başakşehir districts, and to determine the level of communication by combining them. The population of the research consists of 479 teachers working in Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul and 249 teachers working in Başakşehir district in the 2016-2017 academic year. The place where the research was conducted included 130 teachers working in Küçükçekmece district and 120 teachers working in Başakşehir district. Data were collected with "Personal Information Form" and "Communication Skills Scale". The data were expressed as percentages (%), frequency values were given according to their sub-dimensions, Kruskal Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U tests were used to analyze the data, and t tests were used to compare two districts. All maintenance analyzes were based on a significance level of 0.05. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a significant difference in the sub-dimensions of communication skills of preschool administrators: gender, clothing and appearance, level of knowledge and information, planning, and selection of the recipient. On the other hand, it was found that the managers' communication skills scale did not show a significant difference in the stereotyped behaviors, perception, emotion, defensive behaviors, listening skills, empathy, importance given to feedback, skipping people in the communication chain and status sub-dimensions depending on the type of district worked.
