Yönetici ve Öğretmen Çatışma Yönetim Sürecinin İncelenmesi: Nitel Bir Araştırma
Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the thoughts of young and low-senior school administrators about the conflicts they experience with teachers of different seniority and their conflict management regarding these conflicts. Generally, in a school there is a principal, deputy principal and teachers. There are principles and guidelines applied in school principal appointments and assignments. An appointed school principal or deputy principal may experience problems with teachers of different seniority at the school they attend. Even the underlying cause of this conflict is uncertain, and not knowing the root cause of the conflict may cause the conflict to deepen. The study group of this research consisted of a total of 10 school administrators, 2 female and 8 male, working in state institutions. The application and data collection phase of the research was carried out between 1-30 April 2022. A semi-structured form, developed by the researcher and whose validity and reliability were ensured, was used as a data collection tool in the study. The findings of the research are that school principals or deputy principals do not want to communicate in the school to which they are appointed, think they know everything, are closed to innovations, do not want to use technology knowingly, are ready to argue at any time, etc. They stated that they encountered people. They also added that the cause of the conflict is unknown, there is a prejudiced point of view, and there is no desire to compromise. In the study, it was observed that school principals or deputy principals want to get to the root of conflicts and find out the reason, they want to resolve the conflict, they use conflict resolution strategies, and they try to compromise when necessary.
