Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to examine the benefits of using social media as an intelligence source and the vulnerabilities that social media may cause. It is clear that effective and competent use of social media will be very useful in educational environments. However, educators need to be more conscious when using social media and share posts that serve the purposes of education. Users are responsible for all shares made on the internet. Addresses where posts aimed at committing crimes were made, profiles of people who committed crimes, etc. All information is accessible. For this purpose, all individuals must have sufficient knowledge about the use of social media. In this research, document analysis was used to collect data. After the findings obtained, it was concluded that individuals should be conscious users when using social media and social networks.
