Abstract

The aim of this research is to find the values processed in Anatolian Tales; to demonstrate the importance of the reviewed fairy tales in terms of values education. In the study, seventeen tales recommended by the Ministry of National Education to be read in schools were examined. Seventeen tales were examined to find the values and qualitative research methods, literature review and content analysis were performed in the review. The study consists of five parts. After the introduction, which is the first part, the theoretical and conceptual framework is mentioned in the second part. In the third part, the method applied in the project was mentioned, and in the fourth part, the findings from anatolian tales were shown with examples. In the fifth part, the results and recommendations are given. As a result of the research, 26 values were determined in 17 Anatolian tales. These values are: Love, respect, responsibility, self-confidence, courage, leadership, empathy, kindness, friendship, helping each other, solidarity, cleanliness, trueness - honesty, frugality, greeting, giving importance to the unity of family, compassion, industriousness, sharing hospitality, doing a favour, modesty, protecting the cultural heritage and self-devotion. There have been three values that are discussed but can't be found out out, these are: being fair, being independence and free thinking.
