Sınıf Öğretmenlerini Çok Kültürlü Eğitim Yeterliklerinin İncelenmesi
Abstract
multicultural education attitudes and multicultural personality traits of primary school teachers. Turkey is a country that hosts many different cultures. In this context, the most important requirement is to raise children with the understanding that will keep differences together and ensure that they are respectful and understanding of each other. Because children are in a central position in the construction of social life and its change over time. The child must be defined as "not yet an adult" and must be educated to become an adult. This process provides socialization for the individual, it is a step towards becoming an individual compatible with the society he lives in, and every society transmits its social and cultural norms to its members through education. Although the family is the basis in the beginning, school and peers have a very important impact. Today, the unity of many cultures and their constant interaction with each other brings about a transformation in those cultures and the values of the society. The tool to effectively transform this change process is the education system. Despite all the difficulties, if a future dream is to be created for refugee/asylum seeker children, this will largely be thanks to education. Many studies have been conducted on multicultural education, but there are almost no studies reflecting the competence perceptions of secondary school teachers towards multicultural education. Since this study will examine the competence perceptions of teachers, who are at the center of the work, towards multicultural education, the results of the research are thought to be especially important for those who structure education and teachers.
