Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to evaluate the problems faced by school administrators in school management according to the variables of school type, duty type, tenure in the school, age, number of teachers in the school, and number of students in the school. The population of the research consists of all school administrators (N = 604) working in primary, secondary and high school levels in Trabzon city center and Vakfıkebir, Tonya, Akçaabat, Beşikdüzü and Çarşıbaşı districts in the 2021-2022 academic year. In this research designed with a survey model, an electronic form was sent via the internet to 400 randomly selected school administrators (principal, deputy principal and assistant principal). "School Management Problem Screening Inventory (OYPTE)" was used as a data collection tool in the study. The data obtained from the measurement tool was analyzed using the SPSS 25 package program. The findings of the study revealed that school administrators mostly experience problems caused by teachers. While this was followed by problems arising from the administration, problems arising from the students, and problems arising from the school climate, the least problematic area was found to be problems arising from the physical structure of the school. As a result of this research, suggestions are included to strengthen managers in dealing with problems and to conduct new research with different methods and sample selections related to the subject.
