Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the views of teachers on the effect of family involvement in the preschool period on the development of preschool children. Within the framework of this purpose, the most preferred activities of the families, the participation of the families in the activities, the effect of the activities on the cognitive and affective states of the children etc. Answers to sub-problems were sought. The study is important because there is a new data collection tool developed by the researcher and there is no other study in parallel with this study. Qualitative scanning method was used in the study. The study group of the research consists of 11 female preschool teachers working in private and public institutions. In the findings part of the research, the most frequently attended activities by the families, the positive and negative aspects of the participation of the families in the activities, the attitudes of the parents towards the activities with the family participation, the effect of the activities on the cognitive and affective characteristics of the child, the effect of the number of children in the family on the participation of the family in the activities, etc. information has been reached. As a result of the research, it has been found that the teachers plan the activities within the limits of the possibilities of the school and the parents, the parents in some professions have less or more participation in the activities, the parents participate less in the activities as the number of children increases, and the activities are effective in the creative thinking, taking responsibility and cooperation of the children. In the research, suggestions were made about the need to support schools with material, to communicate more with families and to increase their participation in activities.
