Abstract

Social media networks bring together individuals of all ages and cultures. Nowadays, social media networks are almost a common meeting point. People can establish social relationships with social media, examine the content produced, and produce social content themselves. Due to their structure, these contents spread very quickly on social media. For this reason, they significantly affect the life of the individual as they are preferred more than normal communication and interaction. Individuals build an identity for themselves through social media and enter into an artificial competition with other social media users. If social media is not controlled, people feel left behind in this race and missing opportunities. Therefore, the use of social media reaches the level of addiction in people; It brings social media addiction. In this sense, Social media addiction; It is a situation where the time spent on social media is more than normal and increases day by day. This research examines articles on social media addiction published between 2013 and 2023. Document review technique was used in the study. In general, it has been observed that people with social media addiction have some problems.
