KORUMA ALTINDAKİ ÇOCUKLARLA ÇALIŞAN PROFESYONELLERDE PSİKOLOJİK DAYANIKLILIK, İŞ TATMİNİ VE ÇOCUK GELİŞİMİ BİLGİ DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİLERİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the relationships among psychological resilience, job satisfaction, and child development knowledge level in professionals working with children under protection; additionally, it evaluated whether these variables differ by demographic characteristics such as age, gender, and educational level. The research was conducted within a quantitative approach, employing descriptive and correlational survey models. Sample and Data Collection The sample comprised 153 professionals employed in child protection, including social workers, child development specialists, psychologists, sociologists, teachers, and other relevant occupational groups. Data were collected through the Demographic Information Form, the Child Development Knowledge Level Assessment Form, the Resilience Scale for Adults, and the Job Satisfaction Scale. The obtained data were analyzed using correlation and regression techniques. Findings The results indicated a positive and statistically significant relationship between psychological resilience and job satisfaction; psychological resilience was found to significantly predict job satisfaction. A positive and moderately significant association between child development knowledge level and psychological resilience was also identified, with child development knowledge exerting a strengthening effect on resilience. The relationship between child development knowledge level and job satisfaction was positive yet weak in magnitude. Demographic variables generally showed limited discriminative power for psychological resilience and job satisfaction; however, having received education in the field of child development yielded favorable effects on these variables. Conclusion The findings suggest that knowledge related to child development enhances psychological resilience, and psychological resilience, in turn, plays a decisive role in job satisfaction.
